The General Prosecution Office of Moldova has a new international policy counselor from the European Union. <\/p>\n

Aivars Ostapko was elected through public contest by the the Delegation of the EU at Chi\u0219in\u0103u to help the Office in the process of institutional reformation and modernization. 37-years old Latvian counselor has 15 years of experience in the Prosecution Office of Latvia.<\/p>\n

The interim General Prosecutor Eduard Harunjen stressed that the new expert will meet the institutional requirements, as he was selected rigorously among other specialists from the EU.<\/p>\n

The counselor will have to first elaborate an action plan after studying the system and the new laws that regulate the activity of the prosecution. Monthly, he will have to publish reports about the results and the tasks during the reform of the Moldovan Prosecution Office.<\/p>\n

Aivars Ostapko is the third counselor of the European Union to the Prosecution Office of Moldova after Holger Helmbach and Virginijus Sabutis. <\/p>\n
