The money was given by the National Bank with the warranty of the Government in November 2014 and March 2015 to save the deposed funds in the three problematic banks: Banca de Economii, Banca Social\u0103 and Unibank. <\/p>\n<p>Filat stressed that the transfer is illegal, because &#8220;it is established by law that shareholders and the associated persons to them may not be paid from that credit&#8221;, referring to the Russian bank as to the shareholder of Banca de Economii. According to the former PM, from 13,5 billion lei given by the National Bank, &#8220;only approximately 6 billion lei went to Banca de Economii, while the rest- to Banca Social\u0103 and Unibank&#8221;. He also emphasized his hope that the 2nd Kroll Investigation report, but also his <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/en\/hearings-ex-pm-vlad-filats-trial-remain-closed\/\" target=\"_blank\">current trial will be made public<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;Private banks, people who worked in these banks and state institutions who didn&#8217;t do their duty to not allow this theft. One doesn&#8217;t talk and doesn&#8217;t do anything in this theft. Why? Because those who are investigating do not have any interest to learn the truth. Or maybe they are not allowed to?&#8221;, asks Filat. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>According to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mold-street.com\/?go=news&amp;n=4806\" target=\"_blank\">mold-street.com<\/a>, the bank was given the funds in accordance to the ruling of the National Commission for Financial Market that the liquidator of Banca de Economii would had to return money invested in the BEM capital. The unknown thing is the sum that has been returned, aside from 80 million lei for the shares.<\/p>\n<p>Vlad Flat, arrested on October 15th 2015, thinks his case is a political one and there is no evidence to prove his guilt. Filat\u2019s arrest was prolonged several times since he was arrested (recent prolonging: May 18th for 30 days).<\/p>\n<p>Former PM is accused of receiving money and goods worth some 250 000 US dollars from the businessman Ilan Shor during his premiership for offering some preferential services. According to the prosecutors, Filat recognized receiving goods from Shor, but only as gifts. The latter was the head of the administration council in the three banks that were involved in the Grand Theft of approximately 1 billion euros.<\/p>\n<p>The money from the banks was taken through unlawful loans by bogus firms and companies that transferred it to Latvian, British and Russian accounts and then to off-shore countries.
