The Prosecution Office B\u0103l\u021bi from northern Moldova announced about the sentence of 7 out 13 members of the criminal paramilitary organization<\/a> “Kotovzy”, accused of planning violent attacks on a prison, a military area, and separatism (art.341.2).<\/p>\n

The accused ones recognized their guilt and asked for simplified examination that would provide softer sanctions. <\/p>\n

According to the prosecutors’ demands, the Court of B\u0103l\u021bi applied fines of 10000 lei for each 7 of the 13 members. The cases of the other 6 will be examined through a general procedures, as they don’t recognize their guilt. <\/p>\n

Previously, all of them confirmed that they were recruited to organize violent attacks in order to destabilize the order in the Republic of Moldova. Asked what was the aim, they said that \u201cthe group wanted the North part to unite with Transnistria and Odessa\u201d. The deputy chief of the General Inspectorate of Police, Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, declared that the group, called \u201cPeople\u2019s Army Kotovtzy\u201d, was planning to attack the Prison from B\u0103l\u021bi, in order to free 400 detainees and to get 50% of them as adherents. The paramilitaries wanted to get some 300 adherents and then, to attack the Military Unit in B\u0103l\u021bi to get heavy weapons. Then, it was supposed to steal from businessmen and to take the control over the factories in northern Moldova. The actions will be followed by armed expansion to Chi\u0219in\u0103u, G\u0103g\u0103uzia and then to Odessa, the so-called \u201cRussian city\u201d.<\/p>\n
