Hundreds of policemen had to encircle the building of the Moldovan Government in order to face the protests organized by the Socialists’ Party. Despite the small number of protesters, the policemen, led by the chief of the Moldovan police Gheorghe Cavcaliuc, were placed in several rows. <\/p>\n

The leader of the Socialists, Igor Dodon, declared that his protest is peaceful and there is no intention to enter the Government. <\/p>\n

“We are protesting against the Government and we want snap Parliamentary elections. This power will step down only there are protests”, told Dodon. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The protesters were shouting “Snap Elections!”, “Thieves must go to prison!”, “Screw the Mafia!”. <\/p>\n

On January 29th, the representatives of the civil society, the Platform “Dignity and Truth”, “Our Party” and “Action and Solidarity Party” gave an ultimatum of 30 days to the Government to implement urgent reforms and to announce election in autumn. The Socialists didn’t want to align to these demands.
