The Ministry of Economy of Moldova informed that the European Union signed in December 2015 three agreements of co-financing together with the EBRD the The Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environmental Partnership (E5P). The countries receivers are the Republic of Moldova, Georgia and Armenia. <\/p>\n

The value of the financing for Moldova is 18,750,000 euros, while for Armenia and Georgia- 10,200,000 euros. The first part of the funds will be transferred very soon.<\/p>\n

With the E5P funds the local authorities will be able to implement projects of energy and environmental efficiency. <\/p>\n

According to the initial agreements, Moldova was going to contribute with 1 million euros to the E5P Fund, but after negotiations the sum was shared for 2015-2018. Thus, Moldova contributed with 325 thousand euros in 2015 and is going to transfer 225 thousand until July 1st 2016. <\/p>\n

The Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environmental Partnership unites the Eastern Partnership countries, European Commission and other bilateral donors, and the main IFIs active in the region to coordinate and accelerate the implementation of important energy efficiency and environmental projects. The capital of the Fund is 170 million euros managed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
