Thirteen citizens of the Republic of Moldova, with the age between 20 and 50 years, have been condemned in France for taking money out of cards issued by French banks. <\/p>\n

The Center for fighting the informational felonies within the National Inspectorate of Investigations of Moldova worked together with the police from France and found out that during a year, the criminals were installing special devices in ATMs to copy the magnetic band of the cards. <\/p>\n

Later, by counterfeiting cards and using them at ATMs, they took in total a sum of more than 6 000 000 lei (around $300 000). <\/p>\n

As a result of searching their residence and “lab” from Moldova, there have been found 62 Skimmer devices and components, 26 SIM cards, 18 mobile phones, 12 USB drives, 8 magnetic cards, 2 notebooks and 4 desktop computers. <\/p>\n

Previously condemned for other crimes, now the members of the group have been convicted by the French justice to 2 to 5 years of prison.
