The Democrat Party proposed four candidates for the seat of Prime-Minister of Moldova to the President Nicolae Timofti, reports NewsMaker.md<\/a>. Reportedly, the candidates are the current speaker of the Parliament Andrian Candu, the president of the Democrat party Marian Lupu, the oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc and the former PM Iurie Leanc\u0103. <\/p>\n

Dumitru Diacov, the honorable president of Democrats confirmed this for NewsMaker:<\/p>\n

“We consider that the Democrat Party has the right for this seat. Mihai Ghimpu and Iurie Leanc\u0103 agree with us”, underlined Diacov.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The President Nicolae Timofti came with a reaction very soon. He declared that the move made by the Democrats are just a method of applying pressure upon the chief of the state, with the purpose to influence the main candidate. On December 14th, Timofti had a meeting with the Democrat leaders which tried to convince him to designate Plahotniuc as Prime-Minister. Earlier, the Democrat Marian Lupu declared that the President is under the pressure of the Liberal-Democrat Party and risks to cause a chaos in the country. <\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the President Timofti called the Parliamentary parties to respect the constitutional frames and to mobilize in order to form a Pro-European functional Government.
