Republic of Moldova is on the 107th position out of 188 countries in the ranking of the Human Development Index (HDI). The report regarding the Human Development in 2015 reveals that Moldova is still in the category of Medium countries. <\/p>\n

The value of Moldova’s HDI for 2014 is 0,693, with an 6,3% increasing compared to 1990.
\nThus, such countries as Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan are close to Moldova in terms of Human Development. <\/p>\n

Between 1990 and 2014, the life expectancy in Moldova increased with 6,6 years, the education period with 4,8 years. In the same period of time, the net national income per capita decreased by 20,8%.<\/p>\n

The report reads that approximately 25% of the migrants are young people, discouraged by lack of good jobs and payments in Moldova. <\/p>\n

The same Human Development Report states that the progress wasn’t uniform in Moldova, giving the example that 69% of the urban population have access to clean water, while only 23% of the rural people have safe sources of water. Moreover, the report underlines the differences between the urban and rural areas are huge in Moldova, in terms of access to basic social services.<\/p>\n
