Ukraine has increased the amount of military troops on the borders with Crimea, annexed in March 2014 by Russia, and with Transnistria, the separatist region of the Republic of Moldova, declared the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, quoted by agerpres.ro<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Poroshenko stressed that the size of the Ukrainian Army increased to ensure security in potential unsafe regions in Ukraine, like Crimea occupied by Russians and the separatist Transnistria. <\/p>\n

The budget for defense in 2016 will get up to 5% from the national GDP, approximately 100 billion hryvnas. <\/p>\n

Previously, the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Army, Vladislav Seleznev, declared that a seventh round of mobilization will start in January 2016, even if Poroshenko infirmed that in October. <\/p>\n

The Minister of the Defense, Stepan Poltorak, stressed that the Army increased by two times during the last year, up to 280 000 soldiers, 70 000 of which are mobilized in the Eastern Ukraine. <\/p>\n

Transnistria hosts the 14th Soviet Army, which became Russian later, of around 1200 troops, plus the so-called peace-keeping forces deployed on the border between the separatist region and the rest of the territory of Moldova.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
