The President of the Republic of Moldova, Nicolae Timofti, discussed on November 23rd with the representatives of the Liberal-Democrat Party (PLDM) regarding the designation of a new Prime-Minister. <\/p>\n

According to the deputy leader of the Liberal-Democrats and former PM, Valeriu Strelet, his party reiterated that it wants an independent Prime-Minister, despite the rejection of the Democrat Party:<\/p>\n

Democrat Party does not only show no desire to discuss with PLDM, but rejects any perspective of a potential positive dialogue”, stated Strele\u021b.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Furthermore, the former PM declared that PLDM has a few of independent candidates for the Government leadership, but they will publish the names only after other parties will accept an independent one and after the Democrat Andrian Candu, the speaker of the Parliament, will resign.<\/p>\n

The rupture between the Democrats and the Liberal-Democrats emerged after the former PM Vlad Filat, leader of PLDM, was arrested in a case of high-profile bribery<\/a>, thus threatened directly by the Vlad Plahotniuc.
