In his statement<\/a> after meeting with the President, the Minister of Defense of Moldova, Anatol \u0218alaru, stressed that the Republic does not and will not recognize any elections held in the separatist Transnistria. <\/p>\n

Moreover, the legal authorities of the Republic of Moldova sent an appeal to the foreign embassies from Chi\u0219in\u0103u to not delegate any representatives for the elections in the break-away region.
\n<\/strong>
\nEarlier, on November 10th, the separatist leader Evgeny Shevchuk told<\/a> is “bothered” by the way the candidates for the Supreme Soviet “manipulate the opinion of the voters, diverge the information” and criticize him. Therefore, Shevchuk told the local KGB to involve in every electoral meeting and to register and punish every criminal activity of the electoral competitors.
\nBesides this, the separatist leader asked the KGB to supervise the officers who know “the military secret” and to decide if they are still appropriate for those positions.<\/p>\n

Whether it’s Shevchuk’s paranoia or not, we don’t know. What we do know is that the legal Moldova will never recognize the legitimacy of the regime and thus, of the elections, from the left bank of Nistru. Though, the crisis of Transnistria has never been a central or at least, one of the most important topics in the agenda of the political class from Chi\u0219in\u0103u.<\/p>\n
