The President of Romania, Klaus Iohannis, sent for reexamination the Financial Assistance Agreement with Moldova to the Romanian Parliament. The agreement was signed and proposed by the former PM, Victor Ponta, at the joint session of the two Governments on October 7th<\/a>. <\/p>\n

The President Iohannis doesn’t agree that Romania should give money to the Republic of Moldova in the lack of the assurance that the democratic and the European process will not continue at Chisinau. Moreover, Iohannis considers the approval of the agreement inadequate until there are no reforms taking place. <\/p>\n

Taking in account the present political context from the Republic of Moldova, we consider that the ratification of the Financial Assistance Agreement is not opportune until there is no certainty of the continuity of the reforms and the engagement to the implementation of the Association Agreement with the European Union”, states the demand of the President. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n

A short reminder: Two weeks after the joint Government session, the Republic of Moldova and Romania signed on October 7th an agreement for a loan of 150 million euros. The loan was to be given to Moldova for 5 years with an interest rate of 1,5%. All of this, despite that the International Monetary Fund refused to offer<\/a> a new financial assistance program, because of lack of reforms and transparency in both banking and energetic systems. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
