The Parliament and the Government of the Republic of Moldova asks for an EU mission to evaluate the reforming process of the justice. The request was sent by the speaker of the Parliament, Andrian Candu, and the Prime-Minister, Valeriu Strelet.<\/p>\n

The two officials motivated the request, saying that the evaluation made by the EU mission would help Moldova to identify the deficiencies during the reforms in justice and to adjust the plan of actions.<\/p>\n

“Taking in account that we did more than a half of the way, and the European Union supported the justice reform in Moldova, we are asking the EU’s support for the evaluation of the implementation process of the Reform Strategy for Justice and the Support Program for Justice Reform. There is common sense and political willing to accomplish the justice reform”, reads the statements of the Moldovan officials.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The reform of justice has been a priority for Moldova since 2011 and the implementation of the reform strategy has been meant for 2011-2016.<\/p>\n

It is funny that the speaker Andrian Candu, who is demanding the EU mission, is actually a close relative and partner of the oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc, known for handling the justice and several state institutions.<\/p>\n

This being said, the deadline for reforms is coming up, but the justice is still under political control in Moldova with big influences of corruption, as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
