The responsible person of Ukraine’s affairs in Moldova, Ghenadie Altuhov, called the peace-keeping mission from Transnistria invaluable and proposed to change it with other mechanisms, reports tdinform.com<\/a>.<\/p>\n

In a discussion with the journalists, Altuhov declared that the peace-keepers from the separatist region need to be changed with an international multilateral mission. According to him, the separatist and the Russian authorities must think more constructive for the sake of the solving of the conflict.<\/p>\n

Ukraine wants the territorial integrity of Moldova in its borders from 1991. The actual mechanisms don’t work well to maintain this and also, the Transnistrian region, as well as Russia, must elaborate a constructive position towards this topic. The change of the peace-keepers and more international experts would become an efficient step”, told Altuhov.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The peace-keeping mission established between Moldova and the separatist region consists of soldiers from Transnistria, Russia, the Republic of Moldova and observers from Ukraine.<\/p>\n

It is important to mention that the war between the legal forces of Moldova and the separatists from Transnistria in 1992 involved also citizens of Russia and Ukraine.
