The World Bank will offer a loan of 80 million US dollars for the rehabilitation and the construction of local roads in the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n

Vasile Bitca, the Moldovan Minister of Regional Development and Constructions, stressed that the Ministry will “take the necessary actions to participate in the project offered by the World Bank”.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Maria Claudia Pachon, the transports expert from the World Bank regional team, declared that there were identified 28 local routes that need to be fixed or built.<\/p>\n

“A big challenge is preparing the projects for launching. We established the priorities and now we want to start the projecting step in order to accelerate the investments”, mentioned Pachon.<\/p>\n

In complete lack of reforms, Moldova was suspended from receiving outside financing in June 2015, when the Government led by Chiril Gaburici resigned, <\/a>the World Bank cancelled the delivery of a $45 millions loan, the European Union stopped the direct financing<\/a> and the International Monetary Fund recalled its mission.<\/p>\n

Still, there is an enormous need of real reforms in Moldova, in the context of worsening economic situation, the high-level corruption and rising emigration of Moldovans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
