The Russian Agency for Food Security, Rosselhoznadzor, announced on Thursday, August 6th, that it will allow the import of fruit in the Russian Federation only for 17 enterprises from the Republic of Moldova from August 7th. Thus, the Russians allow the access to apples, pears, quinces, nectarines, peaches, apricots, cherries, plums and berries.<\/p>\n

It is quite funny and sad at the same time that Russia gave this privilege only to 17 companies from Gagauzia, the Pro-Russian region populated by Gagauz (baptized Turks) and Bulgarians. The following companies received the permit to export fruits to the Russian Federation: Agro Sadim, Baskalean Agro, Bizim Eri, LPM Imex, Celepen Agro, Kafadar, TRESOR, Kaimir, Eniija, Cebotari, Agrosolidaks, Ghevlandri, Nezetli Iuzum, Speranta, Kelehbar, Ghelen Agro and Edinji Alians.<\/p>\n

Rosselhoznadzor gave the import permit based on the guarantee given by the Moldovan Agency for Food Security for a lot of fruits and vegetables producers from the entire Moldova, and not just 17 from Gagauzia.<\/p>\n

Back to the beginning of the year, Russia suspiciously selected 10 enterprises for apples imports.<\/p>\n

The embargo put by Russia put on Moldovan products began in 2014 as a reaction to Moldova signing the Association Agreement with the European Union.<\/p>\n
