Six years ago, on July 29th 2009, on a Wednesday, Parliamentary elections took place in the Republic of Moldova, and thus, five political parties were elected. Another elections took place on April 5th, 2009, but the Parliament failed to elect a President.<\/p>\n

Four of them, the Liberal Democrat Party, the Democrat Party, the Liberal Party and the “Moldova Noastra” Party decided to form a government coalition in order to get out the Communists’ Party out from the Government.<\/p>\n

The coalition was called the Alliance for European Integration.<\/p>\n

53 out of 101 seats allowed the coalition to vote a so-called Pro-European Government. The first two Governments were led by the Liberal Democrat Vlad Filat until 2013, then one by Iurie Leanca from 2013 till 2014 and by Chiril Gaburici from February till June 2015.<\/p>\n

The coalition had several internal conflicts, because of the influence sharing, especially between Vlad Filat and the Democrat oligarch Vlad Plahotniuc. The Governments had been criticized several times for inefficiency, high level corruption, nepotism. Thus, the coalition had to collapse, like in 2013, or to beg for the opposition votes, like in the case of choosing the Prime-Minister in February 2015.<\/p>\n
