A draft of an agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation regarding the properties of the both diplomatic missions is being negotiated by Chisinau and Moscow.<\/p>\n

According to the draft, Russia will receive the property right upon the Embassy buildings from Chisinau and Moldova will receive in exchange three buildings from the Kuznetsky Most street from Moscow, where the Moldovan Embassy currently is.<\/p>\n

According to Kommersant.ru<\/a>, the agreement is being discussed in the both Parliaments.<\/p>\n

In details, the project confirm that Moldova will offer the structures and the buildings situated in Chisinau, on 153 Stefan cel Mare street, with a total surface of 7710,5 square meters, a 0,8 hectares land for symbolic 1 leu\/year for 99 years and a 214,4 square meters building on 13 Toma Ciorba street.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Moldova will obtain three buildings in the center of Moscow: one on 18\/7 Kusnetsky Most street with a surface of 1513 square meters and two neighboring buildings from the 7\/5 Pushechinaya street with a surface of 1371,8 and 1388,4 square meters respectively. The land of the Embassy is given symbolically for 1 ruble\/year.<\/p>\n

The draft mentions that, despite 23 years of diplomatic ties, Russia and Moldova didn’t have bilateral agreements on the properties of the both Embassies.<\/p>\n

For example, in 2009, the authorities of Moscow asked Moldova to pay 1000 euros for each square meter of the Embassy’s buildings.<\/p>\n

The Embassy of Moldova in Russia is situated in the same location as the former Office of the Soviet Republic of Moldova, while the Russian Embassy in Moldova was built in 2000 on \u00a0a land offered by Chisinau in 1996.
