According to a poll conducted by the Moldovan Association of Sociologists and Demographers, the socialist candidate Zinaida Grecean\u00eei is the favourite in the second round of the local elections in Chi\u0219in\u0103u, potrivit unui sondaj realizat de Asocia\u021bia Sociologilor \u0219i Demografilor din Republica Moldova. Asked who would they vote in the second round, just 58.6% of the respondents expressed a voting option. Among them, 51& would vote for Zinaida Grecean\u00eei (29.9% from the total sample), and 49% for Dorin Chirtoac\u0103 (28.7% of the total).<\/p>\n

Almost half (48.6%) of those who voted for Oazu N\u0103ntoi in the first round will vote for the liberal candidate in the second round. At the same tame, Chirtoac\u0103 will win over a big part of Serafim Urecheanu’s voters (46.9%) and of Monic\u0103 Babuc’s voters (40%). Just in the case of Ilian Ca\u0219u, 78.3% of his voters will vote for Zinaida Grecean\u00eei and 0.0% for Dorin Chirtoac\u0103.<\/p>\n

More than half of the coummunist candidate, Vasile Chirtoca’s voters didn’t know or wouldn’t say who would they vote for (51.5%), and a quarter (24.2%) said they will not vote. Just 21.2% would vote for the ex-communist Zinaida Grecean\u00eei. At the same tame, Oleg Brega’s voters didn’t know or wouldn’t say who would they vote for (50%), and a big part said they will not vote (35.7%). 14.3% of his voters would vote for Chirtoac\u0103 and 0.0% for Grecean\u00eei.<\/p>\n

As far as the main problems identified by respondents are, the main one is improving the quality of life – 19.2% (prices, allowances, scholarships, social assistance), followed by corruption -16.1%, infrastructure and land development – 12.3%, ecology and sanitation – 11.7%, City Hall activity and lack of professionalism – 10.6%, and public transport – 9.6%.<\/p>\n
