“Russia would allow the import of cherries, plums and apricots from the Republic of Moldova”, announced the Russian Federal Agency for Food Security Rosselhodnadzor, after a round of negotiations between the Russian chairman Yulia \u00a0Shvabauskene and the representatives of the Moldovan Agency for Food Security, quotes Itar-TASS<\/a>.<\/p>\n

“The negotiations took place at the demand of the Moldovan part, that expressed its will to ship cherries, plums and apricots to the Russian market. These shipments would be allowed, only after the Russian experts analyze the activity of the Moldova’s Agency for Food Security”, stated Shvabauskene.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Rosselhoznadzor wants to get to know the mechanism of certification of the products from Moldova. Thus, the Russians asked for stats regarding the production volume and sanitary results from the last three years.<\/p>\n

The Russian Federation put an embargo on fruits from the Republic of Moldova on June 21st 2014, putting it for “sanitary reasons”, while Chisinau treated this move as a political decision.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the World Bank will offer a credit of 12 million dollars for the Moldovan farmers that produce apples, plums and grapes. The project was voted by the Government of Moldova on May 27th and will be implemented in 90 days from the day of approval.<\/p>\n

The credit will be offered mainly to small farmers (less than 15 hectares) that were affected by the Russian embargo in 2013 and 2014. The compensations will consist up to 50% of the difference of the real price and the price at which the fruits had been sold in 2014.<\/p>\n

The funds will be offered through the Agency of Interventions and Payments for Agriculture of Moldova, within the project “Competitive Agriculture in Moldova”, signed on May 21st 2015 between the Moldovan Ministry of Agriculture and the World Bank.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
