At the moment, the only terminal of the airport is being extended and repaired.<\/p>\n<p>The next step of modernization is changing the interior design, according to the new conditions and for the comfort of the travelers.<\/p>\n<p>The design of the renewed terminal was done by the Moldovan architectural bureau &#8220;AF ARCHITECTS&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The new project will allow the airport to extend its capacity up to 750 passengers\/hour and to increase the number of check-in offices from 12 to 18. There will be doubled the number of the checkpoints and to the two existing luggage trails there will be added another one.<\/p>\n<p><iframe width=\"740\" height=\"416\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/-q7ldCSiwNo?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The companies chosen by public tender that will implement the project are &#8220;Urbanproiect&#8221; and &#8220;Exfactorgrup&#8221;, the same companies that built the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/proiect-de-milioane-a-fost-lansata-cea-mai-mare-parcare-multietajata-din-moldova-foto\/\" target=\"_blank\">parking lot<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The reconstruction began in November 2014 and will end in September 2015. The project provides the extension of the terminal with more 3860 square meters, but also the modernization of the current 11 000 square meters, totally about 15 000 square meters. Two hundred specialists and workers will be involved in the process of reconstruction.<\/p>\n<p>The reconstruction will not affect the operational activity and the schedule of the airport.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Avia Invest&#8221; is continuing to try to convince other airline companies to extend their route to the International Airport of Chisinau. The port was declared by the Airports Council International as the airport with the fastest rate of traffic growth in Europe in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>The investors are not hurrying to arrive at the airport, as the parking taxes for planes reportedly increased 8 times from the time &#8220;Avia Invest&#8221; took the right of ruling the air gates of Moldova.<\/p>\n<p>The International Airport of Chisinau was conceded for 49 years in secret by the Moldovan Government on August 30th 2013.
