The businessman Ilan Shor, assigned by the Social-Political Movement Ravnopravie, was registered in the electoral campaign for the leadership of Orhei city, his hometown.<\/p>\n

The decision was made by the Electoral Commission Orhei, but after checking the legibility of Shor’s participation, taking in count that he is home arrest.<\/p>\n

The businessman is in arrest since May 6th, being accused of giving non-performant loans, when he was the chief of administration councils at Banca de Economii, the biggest bank of Moldova until 2014, Banca Sociala and Unibank. He has the main role in the transactions done with these banks, as it says in Kroll report<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The experts think that his registration is just a possibility for Shor to escape from the arrest and the investigation. According to the Electoral Code of Moldova, the candidates cannot be arrested, punished or condemned, without the willing of the corresponding electoral authority.<\/p>\n

Ilan Shor was born in a family of jews in Orhei, one of the biggest cities in Moldova. His father built a series of businesses in Orhei and Chisinau.
