Ukraine blocked the access to the goods imported from Transnistria, the break-away region of Moldova. On Monday, May 20th, the Government of Ukraine took the decision to close the checkpoints Cuciurgan and Platonovo for exports and imports from the separatist region.<\/p>\n

The decision regards the import and export of alcoholic drinks, cigarettes, petrol products, gas and cars.<\/p>\n

The Transnistrian so-called authorities are trying now to adapt to the new terms and conditions. The vice-chairman of the customs service of Transnistria, Svetlana Klimencova, declared that the decision made by Kyiv regards 70 enterprises, that will change the shipment routes through Moldova. “The financial loss caused by these restrictions will exceed 20 million US dollars”, told Klimencova, quoted \u00a0by local press.<\/p>\n

The so-called Minister of Economic Development of the region, Dmitri Boltrusco, affirmed that the restrictions will allow the legal authorities of Moldova to control th exports and the imports from Transnistria.<\/p>\n

Chisinau doesn’t impend the external economic activity from Transnistria, but it strongly encourages the enterprises to register officially and to do the customs registration of the imported and exported goods.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
