The Second Edition of the Moldovan-American Convention will take place in Chicago on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015.<\/p>\n

The Convention serves as a public platform for dialogue and communication. It aims to enhance the economic, cultural and political relationships between North America and the Republic of Moldova. Members and representatives of diaspora organizations from USA and Canada, together with their guests, will focus on consolidation of Moldovan diaspora in North America and its engagement in providing assistance to the Republic of Moldova in its strive for democracy and economic development.<\/p>\n

The event will host experts in economy, entrepreneurs and scientists of Moldovan descent from USA and Canada, who will present their opinions within three panel discussions: Business and Economy, Education and Science, and Consolidation of Diaspora. <\/i>In addition, several workshops will be organized to provide support to the communities and diaspora members from North America.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all have our own ideas how Moldovan diaspora in North America can support Moldova, and most of us are already actively involved in it. Now we want to share the ideas and come up with collective resolutions and plans in hopes to have a bigger impact on\u00a0political, social, and economical spheres in Moldova.\u00a0\u201d, says Elena Dragalin, one of the organizers of this event.<\/p>\n

The first Moldovan-American Convention was held in 2014 in Washington D.C.. The Second Edition is organized by three main partners: Moldova AID, NOROC Events & Promotions and The Association of Moldovans in Chicago, with the support of the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Moldova in Illinois, the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to the United States, the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova to Canada, and the Moldovan Diaspora Relations Bureau.<\/p>\n

The convention is aiming to become the most important annual event in North America, organized by Moldovan community, and will be hosted in a different city every year.<\/p>\n

The 2015 convention is organized with the support of official sponsors from the Moldovan community: AIR, Truck Life, ADN Express, Handy Transportation, Gherman Legal, and others. The official informational partner is Moldova.org.<\/p>\n
