The people from Transnistria, the break-away region of Moldova, are outraged by the reports broadcast by the Russian television, which present the region as prosperous, while in fact it is stricken by a severe economic crisis and both pensions and salaries are paid late.<\/p>\n

Dozens of Transnistrians expressed their displeasure regarding the last video report made by NTV, which presents Transnistria as a \u201emodel of success\u201d for the two separatist republics from Eastern Ukraine.<\/p>\n

The report<\/a> <\/span>claims<\/span> that the separatist economy flourishes, and <\/span>that<\/span> people from both Ukraine and Moldova come to Tiraspol for shopping.<\/span><\/p>\n

At the same time, the people accuse NTV of spreading false information, explaining that in truth the prices in the region are much higher, and that they have to shop at Chisinau or in Ukraine.<\/p>\n

\u201eOur family goes to Chisinau or Odessa for shopping, where the prices for food and clothes are three times cheaper than in Transnistria\u201d, comments a person. Another one says that \u201ethe journalists follow the orders of the authorities and they lie as much as the leadership\u201d.<\/p>\n
