The Parliament of Moldova decided on Friday, April 3rd, that the general local elections will take place on 15 of June 2015. The decision was voted by all the members.<\/p>\n

The initial project of the Socialists’ Party set the date of the elections on June 7th, but the Liberal-Democrats proposed that it should be organized on June 14th.<\/p>\n

The leader of the Liberal Party, Mihai Ghimpu, proposed that the legislation should indicate a fixed date of the general elections of the leadership in the administrative unities. “For example, there should be written clearly that the first Sunday from June is supposed for the general local elections and thus, this problem would be checked out of the list”, said Ghimpu, who was supported by the Democrat Dumitru Diacov.<\/p>\n

The last local ballot in Republic of Moldova took place in June 2011, when 898 mayors, 1120 members of district councils and 10630 members of city or village councils, had been elected.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
