A new mission of the International Monetary Fund arrived on Monday, 30 of March, in Republic of Moldova. Besides the regular mission, a team of experts arrived to conduct a research until April 3.<\/p>\n

The new leader of the IMF in Moldova is Ivanna Vladkova-Hollar, who will replace Max Alier. The previous leader will present the research about the macroeconomic situation of Moldova, after discussing with the representatives from the Finances Ministry, National Bank and other public and private institutions.<\/p>\n

The Prime-Minister of Moldova, Chiril Gaburici, welcomed the new IMF mission and expressed country’s interest to collaborate with the Fund.<\/p>\n

“We are interested in the consolidation of the relations with IMF and we are looking forward to sign a new collaboration agreement as soon as possible, for sustaining the financial stability and the economic development of Moldova”, said Gaburici.<\/p>\n

The parts of the dialogue shared thoughts about the critical situation of the financial system of Moldova, especially about the needed measures that need to be taken.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, the experts group had a meeting with the Minister of Economy, Stephane Christophe.<\/p>\n

The Minister appreciated IMF’s recommendations for the process of the economic development: “The evaluations and IMF’s recommendations are very important for us and help us to find sustainable policies for the economic growth”.<\/p>\n

The topics of the discussions were related to the macroeconomic forecast for 2015 and to the implementation of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area between Moldova and European Union, in the actual geopolitical context.<\/p>\n

A special attention was paid to the reforms in the energy domain and the mission underlined Moldova’s need to diversify its energy sources.<\/p>\n
