It was announced by the Prime Minister Chiril Gaburici yesterday at a press conference.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;It&#8217;s a very good news for us. We negotiate to build the gas pipeline Ungheni-Chisinau to provide gas from Romania across the country and create a fair competition in the gas energy market of Moldova\u201d &#8211; Chiril Gaburici declared.<\/p>\n<p>Iasi-Ungheni pipeline inaugurated officially on the 27 of August 2014, which interconnects the gas networks between Romania and Moldova.<\/p>\n<p>Contract for gas delivery from Romania was signed on the 22 of December 2014. From Moldovan part the document was signed by manager of \u201cEnergocom\u201d Adrian Pritula and from Romanian part the representative of \u201cPetromgaz\u201d Marian Bitica.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, it was announced that Moldova would buy gas for a price of RON 1010 (Romanian lei)\u00a0(about USD 277) per thousand cubic meters.<\/p>\n<p>At the present stage Moldova purchases natural gas from the Russian Federation, for a price of 332 dollars.<\/p>\n<p>Moldova consumes about 1.2 billion cubic meters of gas per year, in addition to the Transnistrian consumption of about 1 billion cubic meters of gas per year.
