Russian\u00a0political scientist\u00a0Konstantin\u00a0Simonov\u00a0was stopped\u00a0today at\u00a0airport\u00a0and was not allowed\u00a0to enter on the country, communicates RIA Novosti.\u00a0Simonov\u00a0is the director of\u00a0the National\u00a0Energy Security\u00a0Fund\u00a0of\u00a0Russia\u00a0and came to\u00a0Moldova\u00a0to participate in\u00a0two conferences,\u00a0one\u00a0in Chisinau\u00a0and another\u00a0one in Comrat\u00a0on the subject “Does Europe\u00a0have\u00a0an alternative to\u00a0Russian gas?”<\/p>\n

In the description of the conference, Simonov says that Europe does not have such an alternative and that “the refusal of an alliance with Russia means worsening of the energetic situation, economic and implicitly, politically”. According to him, the world is facing a geopolitical re-division and Russia “will be hit the first.”<\/p>\n

The conference organizers confirmed the information for Moldova.org that Simonov was stopped at the airport. According to them, he was declared persona non grata in Moldova. At the same time, they announced that Simonov would hold the conference anyway at Jolly Allon.<\/p>\n

The Press Office of the Border Police confirmed for Moldova.ORG that Simonov was banned at the entry into the country, but they did not give any explanation.<\/p>\n
