The first two containers with each twenty tones of Moldovan apples(Jonagold and Golden) got in safety to Bangladesh. The buyer from Chittagong announced that the fruits were sold in just three days and asked another ten loads of red apples from Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n

ACED<\/a>, the USAID and the Millennium Challenge project that facilitated the transaction, mentioned that this was a test shipping of Moldovan apples to Bangladesh, in order to support the local farmers to gain new markets.<\/p>\n

The shipping was started in December 2014 and was delivered in five weeks, after 8000 kilometers of seaway. The apples were delivered in a very good condition and thus, the customers bought all the apples, especially the Jonagold ones, in just three days.<\/p>\n

The producer, Samiral SRL from Criuleni district, is preparing now the third load of apples, while the transportation company, Mobile SRL, is searching for other producers to satisfy the high demand.<\/p>\n

The customers from Bangladesh said that they could receive and buy even one hundred loads of Moldovan apples this year. Furthermore, it seems like the customers want to buy apples with a small diameter, in boxes of 18 kilograms, of 160 fruits each.<\/p>\n
