The officials of the European Union arrived today in Chisinau to discuss with the leaders of the Pro-European parties and recommended to continue the process of European Integration of Moldova.<\/p>\n

The discussions held at the International Airport of Chisinau lasted for 4 hours and involved the representatives of the Liberal Democrat, the Democrat and the Liberal Parties. The EU delegation included Graham Watson, the President of ALDE, Elmar Brok, the chief of the commission for Foreign Policy of the European Parliament and the Vice President of APSD, Knut Fleckenstein.<\/p>\n

After meeting, Vlad Filat, the President of the Liberal Democrat Party, mentioned that ”it was friendly and important discussion” and that ”the European partners recommended to continue the process of European Integration. It is true that they recommended to form an European coalition. After this meeting the chances of an European Government increased”, said Filat.<\/p>\n

Marian Lupu, the President of the Democrat Party, confirmed that the point of the discussion was ”the continuation of the European policy”.<\/p>\n

”They didn’t come to Moldova to ask or to order something, but they respected the principle to not involve in\u00a0internal affairs of a country”, said Lupu. The politician added that the format of the coalition wasn’t negotiated. ”We’ll continue the negotiations and we’ll announce the new alliance on the next meeting of the Parliament (21 of January)”, added Marian Lupu.<\/p>\n

Finally, Mihai Ghimpu, the leader of the Liberal Party, told that ”the European partners recommended to continue to walk on the European path of Moldova, to beat the corruption, the poorness and to take care of the citizens”.<\/p>\n

Ghimpu said that his party made a compromise towards PLDM and PDM, in order to form a Pro-European parties, but he didn’t mention what kind of compromise. He said that the Liberal Party will take the lead of the same Ministries as in 2010.<\/p>\n

Victor Ponta, the Prime-Minister of Romania, was also waited to come and participate, but he canceled his quick visit.<\/p>\n
