This conclusion was made by the United Nations Conference of Trade and Development.<\/p>\n<p>According to the statistics of 2014, Moldova had 165 boats with a total weight of 717,000 tons. 134 were cargo ships, 5 were bulk carriers and 5 were oil tankers, etc.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/putereanavalla.jpg\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-408592\" src=\"http:\/\/www.moldova.org\/old\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/01\/putereanavalla-1024x127.jpg\" alt=\"putereanavalla\" width=\"1024\" height=\"127\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thus, with an access of only 400 meters to the Danube, the Moldovan fleet has become bigger than the Romanian one and equivalent with 10% of the Russian commercial fleet.<\/p>\n<p>Most of the ships registered in Moldova are 20-30 years old. Their owners often register the ships to avoid the strict rules of scrapping in the European Union and to pay fewer taxes.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, there has been reported an incident with a Moldovan ship Blue Sky M, a cargo ship that was transporting 800 Syrian refugees.
