The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Moldova, Natalia Gherman, explained, in an interview for Radio Free Europe, what will happen if the separatist administration from Transnistria will continue to deny the conditions of the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union.<\/p>\n

“If this happens, the conditions of the Free Trade between Moldova and EU will not be applied to the Eastern region and the all the exports from Transnistria will not benefit from the duty-free regime. 30% of the trade from the separatist region is already been done with the partners from the EU and 38% with the rest of Republic of Moldova. Thus, 68% of the exports are done with the Western partners. It is in the interest of the administration from Tiraspol to apply the special duty-free regime with the EU because it is profitable”, told the Minister.<\/p>\n

The chief of Moldovan diplomacy mentioned that the authorities from Chisinau accepted to extend the period of adaptation of commercial preferences for Transnistria until January 2016. “We need to find quickly concrete solutions to prepare the agricultural and the industrial domains from Transnistria in order to apply correctly the Free Trade Agreement between Moldova and European Union”, said Natalia Gherman.<\/p>\n

After the Association Agreement and the Free Trade Agreement were signed in 2014 by Moldova and EU, the separatist administration of Transnistria denied any future involvement in the new commercial and economic structure.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
