The Senate of United States of America approved the project of the ”Law for supporting the freedom of Ukraine 2014”, which states that Ukraine, Georgia and Republic of Moldova can obtain the status of US allies, without joining the NATO. The statement was made on the site of the\u00a0Congressional Budget Office, quoted by Mediafax.ro<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The project proposed by Robert Menendez (Democrat) and Bob Corker (Republican), provides several recommendations for Barack Obama\u00a0to apply\u00a0energetic, military and financial sanctions against Russia and its allies, but also to give a special status of non-NATO ally to Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia, and to give any kind of aid to the Ukrainian Army as well as to refugees from the warfare zone. According to the official site, the law allows to help Ukraine with 560 million dollars between 2015 and 2017.<\/p>\n

The status of non-NATO allies will allow Moldova, Ukraine and Georgia only to transfer military equipment from USA.<\/p>\n

To become an official law, the project must be approved by the House of Representatives.<\/p>\n

Until now 15 countries are non-NATO allies of US: Afghanistan, Argentina, Australia, Bahrain, South Korea, Egypt, Philippines, Israel, Japan, Jordan, Kuwait, Morocco, New Zeeland, Pakistan and Thailand.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
