A group of criminals that was selling Uranium in Republic of Moldova has been stopped by the National\u00a0Agency of Police. The investigation and the arresting was done by the Moldovan policemen together with the FBI of United States.<\/p>\n

In order to get enough proof, a policeman got inside the team of criminals by becoming a member.<\/p>\n

With the financial aid provided by FBI, there had been bought a piece of 5 grams in advance for $15000 from the total sum of \u20ac<\/span>30000. The piece was identified as Uranium and was classified as Nuclear Material.<\/p>\n

On 3 of December 2014, a member of the group was arrested while he was selling 200 grams of radioactive material( Uranium 238, active components and Uranium 235). For this quantity, the group was supposed to receive \u20ac<\/span>1,6 million-8000 euros per gram.<\/p>\n

According to the Police, supported by the special forces of ”Fulger” and by FBI,<\/p>\n

there were found other radioactive materials, a kilogram of\u00a0Mercury, a kilogram of an unknown inorganic substance, but also phones, computers, official papers and contracts that certify the transactions of dozens of millions dollars.<\/p>\n

This is the second known and public case of contraband with radioactive materials in Moldova since 1991.<\/p>\n
