Today, 30 of November, Parliamentary elections are happening in Republic of Moldova. The people of Moldova have to choose between twenty-four competitors, political parties or independent candidates, to represent them in the Parliament.<\/p>\n

The stake of the elections is based on the competition between the Pro-European(the Liberal Democrat party, the Liberal party, the Democrat party) and the Pro-Russian parties(the Communists` party and the Socialists` party), that will enter in the next assembly for sure. Beside the big political parties, it is supposed that the independent candidate Oleg Brega, a fighter for human rights, can be elected as the first independent MP in Moldova`s history, if he gets at least 2% of votes.<\/p>\n

The electoral campaign was actually based on the same competition and comparison between the West and the East. More than 20% of the people lost their trust in Pro-European parties due to several cases of corruption and economic crimes within the Government. The Eastern forces have profited on people`s uncertainty and began to promote the Customs Union and closer relations with Russia.<\/p>\n

The dirty campaign culminated in the last three days when the Patria party, led by Renato Usatii, a Russian businessman with Moldovan origins, was removed from the elections. The act was asked by the Central Electoral Commission, who discovered that the party was involved in organized extremism and was funded through money coming from Russia. The allegations weren’t justified properly and so, a lot of institutions, including international, declared the move not appropriate in the context of the basic principles of democracy.<\/p>\n

Democratic or not, these elections will show the future way of development of Moldova: the European path or the Russian old style, but actually, it’s up to people to decide what’s right and what’s wrong.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
