The first batches of Moldovan fruits went to the European Union. Premier Iurie Leanca said in a talk show<\/strong><\/a> on the national channel \u201cMoldova 1\u201d that the first three trucks full of apples and plums have been shipped to Romania.<\/p>\n

The fruits will be sold in the stores of the \u201cMetro \u2013 Cash&Carry\u201d network.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe embargo from East has motivated us,\u201d Iurie Leanca said. \u201cThese sanctions mobilize us; they make us change the situation and lower the risks.\u201d<\/p>\n

He added that Moldovan fruits will also penetrate the German market via the \u201cMetro \u2013 Cash&Carry\u201d network from this country.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe had talks with our friends in Berlin who have helped us to have access to the leadership of Metro Germany,\u201d the Premier said. \u201cThe trading price is a very good one.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to him, the government is currently holding talks with other German stores, as well as French and British markets.<\/p>\n

Russia has banned imports of Moldovan fruits, canned vegetables, processed meat and wines in response to the country\u2019s political integration and economic association with the EU.<\/p>\n

Although the EU has said it is opening its market for Moldovan goods, farmers find it difficult to trade with the EU member states due to high production standards required by the EU Commission.<\/p>\n
