More than 78,000 Moldovans have traveled to Europe with their biometric passport since the Republic of Moldova gained visa waiver at the end of April this year.<\/p>\n

According to Moldovan Border Police, the Moldova-Romania border traffic has increased in the past two months by 8.8% compared to a year ago. Therefore, 699,223 crossings have been registered.<\/p>\n

Statistics show that mainly teenagers were among those travelling to Europe\u2019s Schengen zone. Up to 104,400 teenagers, aged 26-35, crossed the border since April 28.<\/p>\n

Only 23 citizens with biometric passports have been denied entry in the EU since they failed to fulfill entry requirements and could not prove the scope of their journey, while 12 others had been previously banned from entering the area due to violation of legislation and were, therefore, denied access again.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
