A campaign of support and encouragement of Latin-script schools based in Transnistria was launched by the Promo-LEX Association in cooperation with Moldova.ORG. The campaign, called \u201cSave Romanian-language schools in Transnistria,\u201d seeks to raise awareness in Moldova and at international level about the issues the schools are facing within the self-administered breakaway region of Transnistria, eastern part of Moldova.\"_MG_4067\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Romanian photograph Octavian Balea paid a visit to the separatist region, shooting hundreds of photos with the life of people residing there, paying a special attention to the eight Romanian-language schools, which are regularly harassed by the self-appointed authorities from Tiraspol. Mr. Balea displayed his works at the \u201cTransnistria \u2013 the dungeon of the Romanian language\u201d exhibition on May 2 at the National Library based in Chisinau.<\/p>\n

A book, entitled the same way, was launched by Romanian journalist Dan Gheorghe during the same exhibition.<\/p>\n

Moldova.ORG will feature every day video spots in support of teachers and pupils learning in these schools. Should you also want to submit an encouraging message for them, please send your short video spot to info@moldova.org or pr@promolex.md.<\/p>\n
