Moldova and separatist administration of Transnistria agreed on removing obstacles for the free movement of permanent residents of the secessionist region holding foreign passports, other than Moldovan.<\/p>\n

The protocol decision on freedom of movement was signed in Vienna on Friday at the first \u201c5+2\u201d talks under the Swiss OSCE Chairmanship, the OSCE reported in a press release.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am encouraged by the constructive atmosphere and the practical outcome of our discussion on social problems as well as the signing of a protocol decision on freedom of movement initialled last year in Kyiv,\u201d said Ambassador Radojko Bogojevi\u0107, Special Representative of the Swiss OSCE Chairperson-in-Office for the Transnistrian settlement process who chaired the two-day meeting.<\/p>\n

\u201cFinding solutions to day-to-day problems for people on both banks of the Dniester\/Nistru River must be a key priority,\u201d Mr. Bogojevi\u0107 said, welcoming progress in such areas as pensions and social assistance for people who changed their place of residence, and environmental issues.<\/p>\n

Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Jennifer Brush said education was an important issue that has to be tackled during the talks.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe issue of education must be de-politicized,\u201d Ms. Brush said. \u201cChildren must be able to study in the language of their choice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Participants agreed to meet again on April 10-11, 2014 for the next round of \u201c5+2\u201d talks that will also take place in Vienna.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
