The first Moldovan-American Convention is to be held on February 25, 2014 in Washington, DC.<\/p>\n

This is a public platform for dialogue and communication, advocating for expanding the ties between the United States of America and the Republic of Moldova.<\/p>\n

The Convention aims to enhance the network of economic, cultural and political connections, and bolster political relevance and opportunity to assist Moldova’s path of transition towards the Western group of functional democracies.<\/p>\n

The organizers – Moldova AID Foundation<\/a>, the Moldova Foundation<\/a>, and the Association of Moldovans in Chicago<\/a> – invite all Moldovans living in the United States, individuals from business and academia recognized for excellence in their professional fields and affiliated with Moldova, groups and individuals of Moldovan descent, and American supporters of Moldova, to participate at the event.<\/p>\n

“The goal is to engage in providing assistance to the Republic of Moldova in its strive for full democracy and economic development. Participation to the Convention is open to individuals and groups sharing the above objectives,” the organizations informed in a joint press release.<\/p>\n

The event is supported by the Moldovan Embassy based in Washington, DC.<\/p>\n

Every interested person can attend the event free of charge. However, they have to register online by sending a request to the event committee at usmdconvention@moldova.org<\/strong> indicating the name, organization or business affiliation, email and phone number.
