Immediately after being established, Moldcell has revolutionized the mobile telephony market in Moldova, making it accessible and varied in the area of services and products, quality and servicing as well. Year 2005 was a decisive ones and very fruitful, both for Moldcell<\/a> and for their subscribers. <\/p>\n

What meant year 2005 for our subscribers? <\/p>\n

A year of technologies. <\/strong>The launch of the EDGE technology has confirmed the statute of a leader in implementation of new technologies and opened new opportunities for our clients. The speed for data transfer increased 3 times! compared with GPRS, but the volume of the data transferred has recorded a substantial increase. <\/p>\n

A year of services. <\/strong>The advantages of a technology can be fully understood only by using the services based on it. During 5 years of activity Moldcell launched 42 services on the market, 14 of them (1\/3 of the total number) were developed and implemented during 2005! Their variety is very broad one, to address different segment of users: Paparazzi – is for those who want to send a photo made by mobile phone in any part of the World, Thank You! – for those who cares about their closest persons and want to refill their Alocard accounts, CallME – for those who need assistance, Java Games – for those pensioned of electronic games, LoveChat – for those who are searching for the new friends, Moldcell Data Kit – for those who cannot imagine their life and business without mobile internet. The service developed with Justar security agency, Security Mobile Service, is for all mobile users in Moldova. Our company offers technical solutions for improvement of servicing in the other areas of live and activity of the country, being a stable reliable partner for the business community of Moldova. <\/p>\n

A year of clients. <\/strong>The facts are the best proof of our attitude toward the clients. We made a lot of beautiful things in order to be more accessible, to be present where our clients needs us, to offer a seamless and quality servicing. Thus the working schedule of the Customer Care Service 444 was extended, which now can be called 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. In June this year the stylish center for complex servicing of corporate clients – SHOWROOM was opened, where all our services can be shown, tested, and variety of the mobile phone models offered includes the most modern and efficient handsets. During promotional campaigns our clients have received as the bonus– 3,391,993 free minutes!, that is equal to 7 years of mobile communication offered in just one year! In order to meet the needs of the clients with mid-level income 2 new products were launched on the market –Alocard scratch card of 40 impulses and Moldcell<\/a> Money card of 100 lei. The company subscribers’ base has increased by 22% compared to the end of previous year. Segment of the corporate clients has recorded the 40% increase! The Moldcell<\/a> distribution network comprises 602 points of sale where our products and services can be purchased. They are situated all over Moldova. The works to extend network and particularly to optimize it were performed. Before December 15th this year 48 new Radio Base Stations have been launched, the coverage figure being 86,4% of the territory of the country. Moldcell network is accessible to 86,6 % of the population. While the number of subscribers grows there is a requirement to increase the network capacity, in order not to worsen the quality of servicing. Under this perspective the network optimization works have been done and its capacity has increased by 32,5 %.<\/p>\n

A year of surprises and gifts. <\/strong>Moldcell has already gained the reputation of the company that likes to give presents and surprises, especially musical ones. During 4 promotional campaigns 4050 prizes were drawn!, among which are mobile phones, laptops, money prizes and cars bough for the first time in Moldova by Moldcell. During the joint event with UNICEF, 6000 children from Moldovan villages having the age between 3 and 6 years have received fair-tales and poetry books. Every year the number of fans of Ethno Jazz, New Music, opera festival growth as well as competition-festival of light music „Two twin hearts”, competition-festival of children and teenagers’ music „Lets put hand to hand” – all of these being international and all of them supported by Moldcell<\/a>. <\/p>\n

A year together with the new generation. <\/strong>Our stable attitude toward young people is special and pro-active. The opinion of young people counts and Moldcell support them by different ways – the special offer – Alocard Student package, Alocard Multimedia package that includes 5 free MMS, Moldcell<\/a> Scholarship project – through which the company is not just supporting financially 25 students from 5 educational institutions of Moldova, but also contributes to the growth of the new generation of the specialists of the country. Year 2005 was not only the jubilee one when Moldcell has celebrated 5 year anniversary, but extremely resulting as well. Activating almost 5 years on the mobile telephony market of Moldova, Moldcell<\/a> have succeeded not only to make the mobile telephony services more accessible, but also to offer the services that have no analogue in many countries of the world. As Moldcell coverage spreads almost all over the country, Alocard and Moldcell products offer quality at the optimal prices, points of sales are present in almost all regions of Moldova, the services offered are diverse, advance and many of them are exclusive, the company has decided to define the strategic direction of development for 2006 – development of an intelligent solution. These intelligent solutions are meant to go beyond the mobile communications and to contribute in optimization of servicing process in other areas. <\/p>\n

One of the first services, based on the concept of Moldcell Intelligent Solutions – Data Kit was launched in November 2005. Today Moldcell<\/a> announces about launch of 3 new services based on the new concept: <\/p>\n

GPRS Roaming.
\n<\/strong>After the successful implementation of the GPRS technology that made possible MMS and MMI service usage, Moldcell<\/a> made investments and prepared the technical infrastructure in order to extend this service in roaming as well. Now Moldcell<\/a> subscribers will be able to access Internet being abroad. At the moment the service is available in Turkey and Ukraine. Till the beginning of summer, when the holiday season begins, the GPRS roaming agreements will be signed with operators located most popular destination counties. <\/p>\n

Moldcell Smart Settings.
\n<\/strong>The service allows automatic sending of the GPRS settings to the subscribers’ mobile phones. The service is based on the database that allows to recognize 10 500 models of the mobile phones. After subscriber sends the request by SMS to 433, the phone model will be identified and will be sent the GPRS settings customized for this particular phone model. After saving settings, subscriber will get a confirmation SMS that his mobile was configured for GPRS usage. Once you activate GPRS settings, whenever you change your mobile the system will regognize your handset model and settings will be automatically activated. As per statistical data 45% of the handsets located in Moldcell<\/a> network are GPRS compatible. <\/p>\n
