Though the national final for “Eurovision 2006” took place on 25 February currently, the representative of Moldova at this contest will be nominated at a new national stage. Three competitors got the same number of votes in the final: Serj Kuzencoff, Geta Burlacu and Alexa-Moldstar. <\/p>\n

According to the jury’s head, composer Mihai Dolgan, the competitors that did not succeed in joining the first selection stages can participate in the new stage. Dolgan said the new stage is due to take place after the “Martisor” Festival. <\/p>\n

In composer’s opinion, the performance of the participants in the contest leaves much to be desired, that is why the jury’s members are reserved as regards the success of Moldova’s representative at the Eurovision. <\/p>\n

Another member of the jury, Angela Sarbu, told REPORTER.MD that the participants gave a poor performance at the final stage. “Although everyone worked, some contesters sang falsely, the others were in good voice but did not have a great song,” Sarbu said. <\/p>\n

“Teleradio-Moldova”, the organizer of the contest, must draw some conclusions here, Sarbu added. <\/p>\n

Producer Lidia Panfil, composer Oleg Baraliuc, musician Pavel Goia, Angela Sarbu from “Aquarelle” journal, Irina Moghiliova from “Fiesta” journal, Nicolae Grehov from “Mavr&Company” Record House and composer Gheorghe Mustea formed the jury that was appointed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. <\/p>\n

Thirteen singers and bands took part in the contest. The winners were selected on the basis of the jury’s votes and the results of the televoting, after the 50-50 method. <\/p>\n

“Eurovision 2006” will take place in the Greek capital, Athens, in May This is the second year Moldova participates in the contest.
