Sport journalists have nominated weightlifter Alexandru Bratan as the best athlete of Moldova in 2005 for the second year in a row. <\/p>\n

"I am happy of appreciation of sport journalists and I hope to be the best athlete in 2006 as well," the performer told journalists on Friday, December 9, shortly after being nominated. <\/p>\n

Bratan ranked the first place in the top after winning the world silver of the weight category under 105 kilograms in Doha, Qatar, and the silver of the "wrestling" event of the same tournament. He garnered 355 points after a survey. <\/p>\n

Following Bratan in the top is free-style wrestler Ghenadie Tulbea, who became European champion in the weight category under 55 kilograms in Varna, Bulgaria. He garnered 324 points. <\/p>\n

The European judo champion among youths under 23, Marcel Trudov, who ranked the fifth place at the European Championship for seniors, ranked the third place in the top. He won 200 points. <\/p>\n

Athlete Ion Luchianov, solver winner on the 3,000-metre steeple race at the World Universiada in Izmir, Turkey, registered 185 points and ranked the forth place in the top. <\/p>\n

All performers represent the Dinamo Central Sport Club. <\/p>\n

Following Luchianov is Elena Miscov (Russian draughts), who gained 150 points. She is world fast draughts champion. <\/p>\n

World silver sambo winner Ana Repida ranked the sixth place with 120 points. Free wrestler Alexandru Burca ranked the seventh place with 76 points for ranking the fifth spot at the World Championship in Budapest, the weight category under 74 kilograms. International great chess master Viorel Bologan ranked the eighth place with 6 3 points after winning the European Champions Cup along with the Russian club Tomsk-400 this year, gaining tournaments in Dresden (Germany), Poykovskoye (Russia), Sarajevo (Bosnia-Herzegovina), Edmonton (Canada), becoming champion al Russia, England, the contest for teams. Serghei Stoianov (kickboxing, 75 kilograms, world champion – 61 pointse) ranked the ninth place. Olga Cristea (44 points), bronze winner of the European Championship for juniors, the 800-metre race, ranked the tenth place. <\/p>\n

Ion Bratan (weightlifting) was nominated as the best coach of 2005. <\/p>\n
