The Moldova-EU Association Agreement offers great opportunities to people and businessmen residents on the left bank of the Nistru River (Transnistrian region). The statement was made by Moldovan Prime Minister Iurie Leanca in an interview with Romania’s Agerpres news agency.<\/p>\n

“The enterprises will be able to export in greater volumes to the European market, while this thing will generate new jobs, boost competitiveness of businesses from left bank of the Nistru River and insert new technology in the production sector,” Iurie Leanca said, who is currently attending the Vilnius Eastern Partnership Summit.<\/p>\n

The Prime Minister said that he regrets the incentives of the Transnistrian authorities to seek independence of the region or negotiate a separate agreement with the EU.<\/p>\n

“Regretfully, they seek some inacceptable ideas, such as claiming independence or negotiating a separate deal with the European Union,” Mr. Leanca said. “However, these things will not happen. The self-appointed authorities pull the region towards self-isolation that will lead to negative effects on people and business.”<\/p>\n

The head of the Moldovan Government emphasized that he still believes that the rational choice will prevail.<\/p>\n

“Reports documented by international experts show that the Free Trade Agreement will bring positive effects and will lead to an economic growth in the region,” concluded Iurie Leanca.<\/p>\n

The Moldovan Premier will initial the Association Agreement, which includes the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area on Friday in Vilnius. Georgia will initial a similar deal.
