EU Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighborhood Policy Štefan Füle explained in an interview with Publika TV <\/a>that one of the greatest advantages of the Association Agreement for Moldova is the removal of all tariff barriers for product imports and exports.<\/p>\n

“From the very first day of the provisional application all the tariffs for imports will be eliminated,” Štefan Füle said.<\/p>\n

The European official foresees an export increase of the Moldovan products to the European market by 16%, while the EU exports to Moldova will increase by 8%. Moreover, he expects a GDP growth of at least 5%.<\/p>\n

According to him, having access to the world’s largest market with over 500 million consumers, Moldova will benefit significantly from this partnership.<\/p>\n

Štefan Füle highlighted that the provisions of the Association Agreement will also create a good environment for European investments in the country.<\/p>\n

The Republic of Moldova will initial the Association Agreement with the European Union at the Eastern Partnership Summit later this month.
