A day after threats to cut off natural gas supplies during upcoming winter, Russia hits Moldova again. The Russian Sanitary Service “Rospotrebnadzor” announced on Tuesday that some alcoholic beverages originating from Moldova do not comply with the sanitation regulations.<\/p>\n

“Following the laboratory analysis of “Rospotrebnadzor,” four sets of alcoholic beverages, amounting 28,432.5 liters do not comply with the safety requirements,” the Russian Sanitary Service said in a press release.<\/p>\n

“Rospotrebnadzor” warns that if the competent authorities in Moldova will not take any action in this regard, the Russians might ban imports of wines and other alcoholic beverages from Moldova.<\/p>\n

“If we won’t hear in the near future from the competent authorities of the Republic of Moldova that they have taken concrete measures aimed at ensuring safety and quality of the delivered products, your fears might come true,” “Rospotrebnadzor” said.<\/p>\n

A wine imports ban took place in 2006, when Russia reasoned the incident the same way – as not complying with the safety norms.<\/p>\n
