World Expo is held once every five years and offers the possibility for participating countries to promote the country’s image, tourism offers, products, art and culinary traditions. It is the third time for Moldova to participate in the World Expo, which will take place from 1st May until 31st October 2015 in Milan, Italy. For the first time our country will have its own exhibition hall. The contest organised to select the most attractive design for the exhibition hall was won by the company "Gorgona", led by Vladimir Prodan.<\/p>\n

The architectural concept of the hall represents an apple peel forming a spiral. It is expected to begin its construction next year. "It is not yet known who will carry out this project, a tender is due to be held. It is possible that it will be an international project, possibly Moldovan-Italian" Vladimir Prodan said.<\/p>\n

The company president also added that the architectural concept was elaborated in accordance with the generic message of the exhibition " Feeding the Planet. Energy for Life ". Organizers estimated that during 6 months, the pavilions of those 175 participating countries, which represents approximately 1.7 million square meters, will be visited by up to 30 million people.
