Mrs. Lisagor Vergis is originating from Moldova and has been living in Greece for 11 years now. &ldquo;Economic crisis has affected everyone who lives, works or studies in Greece; nobody was discriminated,&rdquo; she said, ironically.<\/p>\n<p>The woman, who is also the President of Moldova-Greece Friendship Union &ldquo;Alexandru Ipsilantis&rdquo; based in Athens, said that unofficially, Greece went bankrupt. However, she is optimist and believes that the ruling coalition will help Greece recover.<\/p>\n<p>According to her, Moldovans living and working in Greece experience the same problems as everyone else. The harshest issue has become getting a job. In the last two years, there has been registered a continuous flow of Moldovans going back home, or migrating to other countries for work. Some decide to return to Greece if they fail were they went.<\/p>\n<p>The situation is explained by the fact that &bdquo;prices in Moldova are likewise in the European Union member states, while the wages are insufficient for the daily needs of a family,&rdquo; Svetlana Lisagor Vergis said. &ldquo;The saddest part is that our country is unable to welcome us back. Maybe it doesn&rsquo;t even want to, at least now.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>More than 12,000 Moldovans reside in Greece, according to the latest estimates of the Moldovan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Some bear dual citizenship, both Moldovan and Romanian, which makes their employment procedures easier in Greece.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It is true that Greece has been &lsquo;invaded&rsquo; by a large number of migrants, while the country was not prepared to manage a migration policy leading to the current issues,&rdquo; Ms. Lisagor Vergis explained.<\/p>\n<p>In the past months, we can see massive street demonstrations and strikes that affect the whole country. Ms. Svetlana said that most of the protests emerge on the initiative of the trade unions and left-wing parties.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;At some point the trade unions have to understand and take the responsibility for very many sufferings Greece lives,&rdquo; the woman pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>She says that the social life has changed.
