The European Central Bank alongside with the Central Banks of the Eurozone member states will inject a new banknote series. The new Euro bill of the so-called “Europa” series will be introduced in May 2013.<\/p>\n

“The Europa series has benefited from advances in banknote technology since the first series was introduced over ten years ago,” European Central Bank in Frankfurt am Main informed in a press release. “Its security features have been enhanced, which will help to make the banknotes even more secure.”<\/p>\n

According to the EU’s bank, the first banknote to be modified will be the €5. It will be followed by the €10. However, the same Euro bills will be kept: €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200 and €500.
\nFor a period, which will be announced well in advance, the first series will be used alongside the new banknotes but will gradually be withdrawn.<\/p>\n

The people will know in January 2013 how do the new banknotes look like.<\/p>\n
